CBD

What is it?

CBD, stands for cannabidiol, is a chemical compound from the Cannabid sativa plant, which is also known as marijuana or hemp, according to the US National Library of Medicine.

It’s a naturally occurring substance that’s used in products like oils and edibles to impart a feeling of relaxation and calm. Unlike its cousin, delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which is the major active ingredient in marijuana, CBD is not psychoactive.

What is it good for?

Anxiety, depression, pain relief, alleviate cancer-related symptoms, neuroprotective properties, heart health (lower high blood preassure), and post-traumatic stress disorder.

Delta 8

What is it?

DELTA-8 THC, or “D8” for short, is a well-known cannabinoid to the scientific community – and now that recreational and medical marijuana is broadly accepted throughout the United States, the cannabis community is taking a hard look at what DELTA-8 THC really is. Thus far, we’ve concluded that DELTA-8 THC is:
  • Psychoactive, but without the negative side effects of DELTA-9 THC (anxiety, stress).
  • Stable, which increases shelf life for concentrates.
  • Found with small quantities (less than 1%) of THC-9, but highly efficient in doses as well as shelf-life.

What is it good for?

Happiness, uplifting feelings, full body calming, and relief from some symptoms such as pain. Delta-8 also helps with insomnia.

CBN

What is it?

CBN is a non-intoxicating compound that is best known as the cannabinoid created when THC ages. For that reason, it’s usually present in high amounts in older cannabis. While this might be a turn-off for some, others seek out older cannabis just to enjoy the effects of CBN.

What is it good for?

Antibacterial, Neuroprotectant, Appetite stimulation, Glaucoma, Anti-inflammatory.

CBG

What is it?

CBG (Cannabigerol) is a type of cannabinoid obtained from the cannabis plant. It’s often referred to as the mother of all cannabinoids. This is because other cannabinoids are derived from cannabigerolic acid (CBGA), an acidic form of CBG.

What is it good for?

Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), Glaucoma, Huntington’s Disease, Antibacterial, Fighting Cancer Cells.

Delta 10

What is it?

Delta 10 THC resembles its close relative Delta 8 in terms of effects – and of course also Delta 9. Based on consumer reports and an early study, both appear to showcase a suspected lower psychotropic potency than Delta 9 THC (aka “traditional” THC).

What is it good for?

Enhance creativity and promote alertness. Psychoactive properties but not as strong as Delta-8 or Delta-9 THC. Invigorating sativa-like effects making it more desirable for daytime consumption.
